This is a very tiny Japanese puzzle box. It is one of the smallest puzzle boxes made in Hakone, Japan. This puzzle box opens in 18 steps, moving little by little in order. It is made using only wood.“Mame” means “bean” in Japanese, so this puzzle box is named Mame puzzle box because it is as small as a bean. The design uses traditional Hakone Yosegi-zaiku, and the pattern is different on each box. This tiny puzzle box is handmade by Hiroyuki Oka.
