Its colors are incredibly diverse, shifting with every change in viewing angle, making each piece unique and highly collectible. Opals are found in various types, including black opal, white opal (crystal opal), fire opal, and matrix opal. Opal is composed of a structure of silica spheres, too small to be seen with the naked eye and only visible under an electron microscope. These colors are produced through diffraction and interference – it's a fascinating interplay of light and these microscopic spheres! **Opal Care & Storage** If you have purchased an opal or pearl, please be mindful of its delicate nature. Avoid exposing it to excessively humid environments or extreme temperature fluctuations, as these can accelerate the decomposition or oxidation of organic gemstones. Due to their hardness and formation, opals should also be kept away from hot springs and hot water baths, as well as products containing cleaning agents. Opal is a delicate gemstone that actually requires a touch of moisture. Therefore, we do not include desiccants in our storage bags. Like other gemstones, it should not be worn during bathing or when visiting hot springs. Do not use a silver polishing cloth to clean opals; instead, simply wipe them with a clean, dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth. We will provide a jewelry polishing cloth. After wearing, gently clean the ring and store it in its protective bag. For all natural gemstone and metal jewelry, it is not recommended to wear them while bathing or visiting hot springs, as chemicals can cause undesirable reactions. Avoid direct contact with perfumes and bleach. Please do not store jewelry in bathrooms or kitchens, as this can accelerate oxidation. When not wearing sterling silver or gold-plated jewelry, try to isolate it from moisture and air. Wipe it clean with a dry cloth or the provided polishing cloth, then store it in a sealed PVC bag. Each piece of jewelry should be stored separately to prevent scratches from collision with other jewelry or hard objects.
