**Carolina Parakeet**
Extinct since the early 20th century, the Carolina Parakeet was the only native parrot species in eastern North America, inhabiting areas along rivers or swamps from the Ohio Valley to the Gulf of Mexico.
Agricultural development led to the clearing of vast forests, destroying the Carolina Parakeet's habitat. As farmland expanded, the parakeets began to feed on crops like grains and fruits, leading farmers to view them as pests and shoot them. The most fatal reason for their extinction was their social behavior. When the population in an area dwindled, they would quickly fly back to regroup, even gathering around injured or deceased companions, making it easier for farmers to kill them.
**IUCN Status: Extinct (EX)**

Q: What is ironing embroidery?
Ironing embroidery features an adhesive backing, allowing you to iron it onto clothing, canvas bags, hats, and more. Here are the steps for use:
1. Remove the green clay backing used for securing.
2. Place the ironing embroidery in the desired position. Cover it with a thin cloth, about the thickness of a handkerchief, to protect the embroidery and the item from high temperatures.
3. Set your iron to its highest setting and press down for at least 30 seconds, until the edges are fully adhered to the surface.
4. Allow the ironing embroidery to cool completely before use.
*Do not use a steam iron.
*Do not iron onto nylon, silk, waterproof materials, sweaters, or down-filled clothing.
*Children should not operate this unsupervised.

- While we may not have the chance to witness these creatures firsthand, they once existed. These animals were once powerful and beautiful, only to be driven to extinction by humankind. If we fail to learn from the past and allow all the wild animals in the world to disappear, leaving only livestock within fences and cages, how desolate will our Earth become?
