It is made from Pinatex, a plant-based leather (vegan leather) imported from Ananas Anam, a Spanish company. Developed by Dr. Carmen at the Royal College of Art, this material extracts fibers from pineapple leaves and processes them through waxing and embossing to achieve an appearance similar to genuine leather. It emphasizes a commitment to not harming living beings and reducing carbon emissions, serving as an alternative to animal leather. It also revitalizes unused pineapple leaves from agriculture and produces no toxic substances during its manufacturing process. At the end of its product lifecycle, the material is biodegradable and returns to nature, protecting the environment and safeguarding future generations from climate change. Plant-Based Leather Features: 1. Spanish Pinatex pineapple leaf leather complies with EU environmental standards and is biodegradable at the end of its product lifecycle. 2. The surface of the pineapple leaf leather has water-repellent properties. 3. Leather goods are hand-stitched in Taiwan using waxed thread for strong durability, unlike machine stitching which is difficult to repair if it frays. 4. If the leather surface becomes dirty, wipe it with a clean, damp cloth and allow the surface to dry afterward. 7. Pineapple leaf leather can be maintained by applying baby oil.
