Collaboration between Chinoiserie Modern Kyoto and Ki-Yan Stuzio
This premium parasol features cutwork embroidery that beautifully expresses the world of Hideki Kimura and the traditional "kawazu-bari" technique.
The production of “kawazu-bari" parasols requires not only a very advanced technique, but also a great deal of time and labor, taking more than twice as long as it takes to finish one ordinary parasol.
This special process is used only for high-class Japanese-made parasols, and it was completed through trial and error so that a wide range of people can try it out.
The umbrella cloth as well as the delicate organdie fabric used for the cutwork portion are highly water-repellent (water repellency level 4-5). In addition, the urethane coated fabric inside is water resistant to 2000mm or more (JUPA standard 350~), making it a rain or shine umbrella that can be used in sudden rain without any problem.
