DAPENG BAY: 3952 Lao Shanyao - Named after a famous scenic spot in Taiwan, this is a special edition for grand writing. The pen barrel is crafted from selected Yellow Rosewood, naturally turned and finished with a special technique for a dazzling, high-definition, high-gloss appearance. The high-definition, high-gloss process involves repeatedly applying and polishing transparent lacquer until the pores formed by the wood grain over time are filled. This process requires dozens of cycles of lacquering and polishing. The high-definition, high-gloss finish creates a smoother surface, providing a more tactile writing experience and making the exquisite wood grain appear more three-dimensional and clear. It also makes the surface easier to maintain, preventing accidental ink stains from damaging the wooden body. However, this method incurs a higher cost. Both the high-definition, high-gloss and standard finishes have their own unique charm, catering to different tastes. Lao Shanyao proudly presents this fountain pen, grateful for your support. The high-definition, high-gloss finish resembles the luster of wood trim inside a luxury car, with a mirror-like sheen and a particularly substantial feel. Most pens on the market are simply polished or waxed after turning; this level of intricate processing is exceptionally rare (natural grain, high-quality random selection). The pen is fitted with accessories made from original brass, finished with gray chrome plating. It features a twist-action, airtight cap and a specially designed spring-loaded clip.
The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) two-tone steel nib, meticulously handcrafted and modified by Lao Shanyao artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing distinct line variations, reminiscent of traditional brushwork. It offers a responsive writing experience, allowing for nuanced strokes that express your unique taste.

Hand-ground and Adjusted Calligraphy Nib:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is recommended to start by dipping the nib in ink for writing (do not remove the converter installed in the barrel; this prevents ink from flowing back into the pen body after writing). Allow the nib to break in and familiarize yourself with its characteristics. After some use, you can then use the converter for inking.
2. The calligraphy nib is an EF nib ground and adjusted into a curved tip. Line variation is achieved not solely by applying pressure, but by the angle of the pen. Utilizing the nib's curvature allows for varying line widths. Holding the pen more upright results in a smaller contact area with the paper, producing finer lines. Tilting the pen at a greater angle or applying slight pressure increases the contact area, resulting in thicker lines. The ability to write both thick and thin lines depends on your proficiency (each nib has a certain tolerance for pressure; avoid excessive force to prevent damage or misalignment. It is recommended to use a writing pad under the paper).
In response to environmental protection efforts, we do not provide paper bags by default. If you require one for gifting, please clearly state this in the order notes after purchase. Thank you.

Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the barrel and cap. When not in use, do not store the pen with the nib facing downwards for extended periods.
Gentle Reminder: Avoid pressing down on the nib or writing with it skewed to the left or right (for right-handed writers, it is recommended to hold the nib pointing towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position). This prevents potential iridium point misalignment, scratching, or ink flow issues. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink buildup and blockages that could affect writing quality.
