Hiroshige Utagawa (1797–October 12, 1858) was a Japanese Ukiyo-e artist. Born into a firefighting family in Edo (modern-day Tokyo), he became a student of the Ukiyo-e master Utagawa Toyohiro in Edo in 1811. His series of 55 landscape prints, "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō," created between 1833 and 1834, established his reputation as one of the most popular Ukiyo-e artists of all time. Due to overwhelming demand for his figure and landscape paintings, mass production led to a decline in the quality of his landscape prints. He created over 5,000 paintings, with estimates of 10,000 reproductions from some of his woodblock prints. His talent was first recognized by Western Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters, from whom he also received significant influence. Hiroshige's style is characterized by its approachable, clear, and refined quality, embodying a more intimate scale. He was a widely beloved artist in Japan during his time. His works are primarily landscape paintings, categorized under the "famous places" (meisho-e) type of Japanese Ukiyo-e, where he depicted familiar scenes and elements of Edo within his canvases. | Specifications Dimensions: H25.7 × W36.4 × D0.1 cm Packaging Material: OPP Bag Product Material: Fine Art Paper Quantity: 1 piece Origin: Taiwan
