About Inca Palo Santo: Inca Palo Santo is a "sacred wood" used by indigenous peoples in the Americas for rituals thousands of years ago. It holds profound significance for native communities. Lower-grade Palo Santo was used for burning in ceremonies to purify spaces and connect with the spirit world. Medium-grade Palo Santo was used to craft ritual staffs and scepters. The highest grade of Palo Santo was even forbidden from being harvested, treated as a deity. In Peru, Inca Palo Santo is designated as a national sacred wood and cannot be arbitrarily felled. Only a few companies with government permits are authorized to harvest it. Palo Santo, meaning "holy wood" in South America, is aptly named as it transforms itself into a sacred and medicinal entity from birth, growth, to death. Typically, an Inca Palo Santo tree lives for 80-90 years before dying. At this stage, it must remain in its natural state for 4-10 years to complete its transformation process. Only in this state, after this complete process, do the properties of Inca Palo Santo reach their full potential. Palo Santo has been used by shamans and sorcerers in Peru and Ecuador for thousands of years.
