Little Bird Song Series - Hand-Painted Black Bird Plate

How did such a unique little bird come to be? Even I don't know. This is because I always work spontaneously. I never sketch out ideas or create preliminary drawings beforehand. If I were to draw a preliminary sketch, it would feel like I was just following a blueprint, which I find terribly boring and uninteresting. Most importantly, the playfulness that arises from inspiration wouldn't emerge. I start with only a vague idea in my mind, like "I'll draw a bird today" or "I'll draw a flower," and then face the white plate spontaneously. As I focus, various elements seem to appear on their own. I then pick out those elements based on whether they seem interesting, and that's how it's finished. That's why I never know what will emerge. I don't concern myself with the outcome. It's as if I do this for the sheer enjoyment of the dynamism, the new discoveries, the surprises, and the unexpected encounters. However, this initial impression fades, and as you become accustomed to it, you'll find yourself appreciating its true charm, its texture, and its rustic appeal.
