The ginkgo trees in this photo are from the row of trees in Jingu Gaien, one of Tokyo's most famous ginkgo tree spots. Ginkgo trees tend to attract particular attention from late autumn to early winter when they shine golden, but they also have an attractive, deep, layered green color when they serve as roadside trees, providing cool shade to passersby. This is a realistic looking ginkgo leaf that has been carefully preserved in hopes of finding a special way to use it. This is a way to use it that is possible with both the front and back of the product carefully crafted. The ginkgo leaves are surrounded by a variety of green vintage glass stones. The thickness of the green of the tree-lined avenue is expressed in a pointillist style by layering various shades of green glass. To the right of the leaf are a transparent stone with yellow-green stripes, a ``Givre glass'' stone which is transparent with yellow-green encased, a smooth dark green stone, and a ``Sabrina glass'' stone which is white opal encased in green. The Sabrina glass on the upper left appears to be a simple navette (marquise) type at first glance, but it has very delicate embossing around the edge. I think the attention to detail that isn't done today is something that's unique to vintage items. The refined and intricate details are so exquisite that they cannot be captured in a photograph, so we urge you to take a look at them for yourself. Small Swarovski crystal beads are scattered throughout the piece to represent sunlight filtering through the trees.
