Vintage English bone china teacup and saucer set from the Val D'or series made by Royal Albert. Thomas C. Wild bought the Albert Works in Longton, Stoke on Trent in 1895. This factory had been named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's Consort. It specialised in tea, breakfast and dessert pieces with floral designs, and it soon gained a reputation of producing beautiful china tea & breakfast sets, firmly establishing the Royal Albert name. The Val D'or design was introduced in 1962. The backstamp was in use in the 1960s and 1970s. This cup is in undamaged, good condition with a little wear on the gold rim. The saucer has a small (couple mm) production flaw on the rim as well as slight surface marks in the center. The photographs are a part of the description.
