This piece was created by writing with my fingers dipped in acrylic paint, inspired by the traditional Chinese painting technique known as zhihua (finger painting). Using fingers instead of a brush helps bring the emotion closer to the viewer, creating a more direct connection from the heart to the artwork.
While the paint was still wet, I wrote “I’m sorry” three times in a row. This action symbolizes an attempt to repair a broken relationship while feelings are still warm. At that moment, both the paint and the emotions were raw and vivid, allowing sincerity to fully sink in.
The artwork features a soft pink background, symbolizing gentleness and care. Beneath it is a faint layer of blue “I’m sorry” written earlier. These overlapping layers express a growing sense of regret. It is not a careless excuse, but a genuine message: if saying it once isn’t enough, then say it twice, say it three times.
Some mistakes cannot be forgiven.
But sincerity should never be missing.
