"Micro-Taichung Cultural Life" vol.02 "A leisurely stroll in a small town" | Qingshui
Walking into the Taichung Sea Line, I saw the development of Qingshui, followed in the footsteps of the predecessors, together saw the cultural background of the Qingshui people, and found youth shops.
-------------------------------------
What kind of place is Shimizu? Some people said: "Shimizu rice cakes are delicious!" and "The sunset in Gaomei Wetland is so beautiful." At first, this was the only thing we saw.
But it is not just a sea-line city, it has unimaginable culture, scenery, food, and history. Unearthed from prehistoric cultural sites, traces of shrines left over from the Japanese occupation period, nostalgic village culture, the incense industry that is facing a crisis of loss, the couple who worked hard on the Dadu Mountain to cultivate agriculture, the rice cake food culture in the ground, and the Qingshui Railway Station and Qingshui Elementary School, which are listed as historical sites, have endless characteristic stories.
The land is connected with the feelings of the Qingshui people. At first, we simply thought that it was just a love of the land carrying the history of farming and labor. However, what is beyond imagination is the love of the Qingshui people for their homeland, attracting many returning youths to return to their hometowns to seek other possibilities. There are also places. The organization actively promotes the participation of Qingshui people in the community, and actively understands the cultural and historical context of their hometown.
Qingshui is land-oriented. They are tolerant and low-key. They work silently in their fields. They never expect to get a big response. With a perseverance and hard work, they do what they think is right.
How many of you haven't seen your hometown? Whenever the scenery changes, do you sigh, "This has become like this! The previous buildings have been demolished." Feel a trace of melancholy and disappointment? In recent years, Taiwan’s awareness of preserving cultural assets has gradually increased. Most people have begun to realize how important it is to preserve these monuments and buildings. They are the development process of an entire era. However, people in Qingshui have already had such awareness a long time ago. Perhaps many people do not. Knowing that a lot of cultural assets and historical buildings have been preserved in Qingshui, perhaps a trip to Qingshui will subvert your original imagination here and dig out more unique values.
In this issue, we will start with "Emotions of the Land" and "Historical Details of Shimizu", and include many interviews with local people and special attractions in places that you don't know. We hope to bring their tolerance and co-prosperity towards the place. Here to you, let us experience the clear water scene of the rural scenery together!
