Parasaurolophus is a genus of hadrosaurid dinosaur that lived approximately 76.5 to 73 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous Period, primarily found in the United States and Canada. This herbivorous dinosaur could walk on two or four legs, and its most distinctive feature is the crest connecting its snout to the back of its head. Three species are known: Parasaurolophus walkeri, Parasaurolophus tubicen, and Parasaurolophus cyrtocristatus. Parasaurolophus had tall neural spines, increasing the height of its back, and traces of osteoderms in its skin.
