Hand-Woven Linen Stole [Harukaze*06]
Material: 95% Linen, 5% Silk
Size: Approx. 40cm x 170cm (excluding 5cm fringe)
This medium-sized stole is hand-woven using the finest 120-count linen threads, the thinnest available, sourced from a thread wholesaler in Kyoto. The yarns are dyed in various colors from a bleached white base before being woven by hand. Its remarkably light and soft feel drapes gently over the body, with a sheer lightness and none of the stiffness or coarseness often found in linen.
Stripes and checks are woven together at random using four different colored linen threads, creating a design reminiscent of silk-trimmed edges.
The ultra-fine ramie linen threads, half the thickness of standard linen used for hand-weaving, are characterized by their minimal fuzziness and subtle sheen. With a fine density of 580 warp threads, it offers an exceptionally supple texture. Linen stoles offer superior water absorption, moisture-wicking, and quick-drying properties compared to cotton, ensuring a dry and refreshing feel against the skin. This makes it a perfect companion for three seasons, from spring through autumn.
*Please note that creases may form during shipping. These can be easily removed with a light steam ironing.
*If you would like gift wrapping, we are happy to offer it free of charge. Please let us know.
