The Origin of the Republic of Formosa Flag~ This is the national flag used by the Republic of Formosa, established in Taiwan in 1895. Due to its design of a yellow tiger on a blue background, it is also known as the "Blue Flag with Yellow Tiger." On the same day, Tang Jingsong issued the "Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Formosa." In 2012, the National Taiwan Museum undertook restoration work on the "Takahashi Untei Yellow Tiger Flag Replica," revealing it to be a "double-sided flag" depicting different yellow tiger visages for day and night. One side features a tiger with fully open pupils, symbolizing a "nocturnal tiger," while the other side shows a yellow tiger with half-open, crescent-moon-like pupils, symbolizing a "diurnal tiger." The two tiger depictions are not only counterparts but also complementary. [Origin of the Name "Tinplate"] Tinplate was formerly called "Yang Tieh" (洋鐵) in China and its official name is tin-plated steel sheet. Because the first batch of Yang Tieh imported into China during the mid-Qing Dynasty came from Macau, and Macau was transliterated as "Ma Kou" (馬口) at the time, it became commonly known as "Ma Kou Tieh" (馬口鐵), or tinplate. Tinplate is widely used, from packaging materials for food and beverages to cans for oils, chemicals, and other miscellaneous items. The advantages and characteristics of tinplate provide excellent physical and chemical protection for the contents. Tinplate cans are an environmentally friendly packaging material: existing containers include tin cans, aluminum cans, paper, and plastic containers, each with different recycling characteristics. However, tin cans are superior to other packaging materials in terms of recycling. With the imminent promotion of the international environmental management standard ISO-14000, tinplate cans, with their low pollution, recyclability, and resource-saving properties, will have broader development prospects in future packaging applications. https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1796/43241205104_807fcf507a_h.jpg ※Please Note Before Ordering!
