Lanyu Marine Debris Buoy <Black Cat Submarine> Hand-Painted Buoy A collaborative creation by <Little Island Art Class> and <Marine Debris Little Shop> The Black Cat Submarine series comes in two colors, priced at 500 each. Please select your preferred color after placing an order. Lanyu is a volcanic island with a predominantly rocky coastline and very few sandy beaches. This means that marine debris, carried by ocean currents, often gets caught in the reef areas. For over a decade, since 2012, we and our island partners have been cleaning up the shores. Beyond collecting marine debris from the coastlines of various communities and sorting it into recyclable and non-recyclable categories, in recent years, we've also begun specifically selecting, cleaning, and categorizing usable fishing buoys from the piles of washed-up waste. Our hope is to alleviate the burden on the island's already saturated landfills and to give these marine debris a new life through regeneration and utilization... Each marine debris buoy has journeyed across oceans, carried by currents like the Kuroshio, arriving at our small island from different regions (such as South Korea, China, Japan, etc.). If you look closely, you can actually see different languages printed on each buoy. Due to the varying materials and sizes of the buoys, and the fact that each is hand-painted stroke by stroke, every hand-painted marine debris buoy is truly one-of-a-kind. If I had to pick a favorite series from the painted buoys in recent years... I would definitely say the <Black Cat Submarine> series. Beyond being a self-proclaimed cat lover ❤️, who lives on a small island, could anyone dislike the sea? 😆 Every time I paint the black cat inside the submarine cabin, I wonder if he likes the submarine I designed for him, or if he enjoys the modifications, and what new features I should add next time. What creatures is he most excited to see if he dives deep into the ocean? And when the submarine surfaces, what interesting underwater stories will he share with me? There are so many things I want to imagine. In short, I really want to go on an underwater adventure with the black cat! ❤️❤️❤️ The new knowledge I gained last week is that leatherback turtles can dive over 1000 meters deep.
