The copper undergoes an annealing process, developing a natural patina. As the lacquer naturally wears away over time, the copper will oxidize organically, revealing an even more authentic and vintage aesthetic. Copper oxidation is a natural process. This piece has a thin protective lacquer applied to freeze the oxidation at an early, patinated stage. The lacquer slows down oxidation but should be kept away from heat sources and acidic or alkaline solvents, which can corrode the lacquer. Once exposed to air, the metal will continue to oxidize. 2. Pewter is a soft metal. The underside is filled with UV resin, so the pattern will not collapse under pressure, but the surface can be prone to scratches. 3. The copper and pewter carving are adhered with 3M double-sided tape. Please avoid prolonged immersion in water and dry thoroughly as soon as possible after contact with moisture. 4. Pewter naturally oxidizes and ages over time. The pewter carving on this piece has undergone an antiquing treatment rather than being lacquered.
