It is formed by a bamboo-weaving technique called Yotsume Ami, a cross pattern structure where each side are weaved to each other without using any glue, symboling the intertwined waves. It is one of the most basic styles of bamboo crafts, suitable for all beginners. It could be used as a vase, or served as a ceramic carrier for dishes.
