I create my works based on the traditional Japanese craft of Ikkanbari. Ikkanbari is a method of decorating a basket product with white washi paper, then decorating it with colored washi paper or cloth, and finally applying persimmon tannins and water-based varnish.
It is a craft that requires finishing. Many of the pieces use old fabrics and paper, but my work uses more everyday materials.
The base is black washi paper, with gold-brown flower lover cut-outs and colorful felt, denim around the edges, and two types of brown washi paper lining the inside. Two types of cloth drawstring bags are included so that you can change the look when using the bag. The handle is covered with checkered cloth.
