My childhood memory of the Dragon Boat Festival is that my grandmother prepared glutinous rice, egg yolks, braised meat, chestnuts and other fillings at home. She sat in the corner of the old family restaurant and wrapped meat dumplings, watching each one of them being stuffed with full fried glutinous rice and fillings, tied with cotton thread and hung on a pole. Nowadays, I can no longer eat the dumplings wrapped by my grandmother, but the charming aroma always exists in my memory. In addition to my grandmother's dumplings, every year when the Dragon Boat Festival comes, children always hang various folk patterns on their bodies, and traditional sachets filled with cotton and Chinese medicine powder. Designers who have loved various handicrafts since childhood have also bought simple material bags to make them. Based on childhood memories of festivals, we hope to interpret folk items from traditional festivals in different ways and materials in the current time and space context. Using the beautiful, unique and delicate pure cotton printed fabrics from the British century-old department store Liberty, we imagine what it would be like if the Eastern Dragon Boat Festival customs met the brightly colored prints of the West? In a modern, more natural and primitive fragrance method, we use dried wormwood or cedar to replace the traditional rice dumpling-shaped sachets made of Chinese medicine powder, and add the decorative tassels used in traditional pendants, which perfectly blends the East and the West.
