Vegetable-tanned leather, as the name suggests, is **leather tanned using plant-based tannins**. It is a general term for leather that uses the tannins from plants for preservation. It is the **oldest and most primitive method of leather tanning**. The characteristic of this type of leather is that its color is initially a **light, skin-like tone**. However, it gradually transforms from light to caramel or even darker hues through exposure to sunlight, prolonged use, air contact, and water. This aging process makes your leather goods more beautiful and lustrous over time. The leather we select **does not undergo any surface treatment**. Just like human skin, cows, during their natural growth, develop **natural textures and scars**. Surface treatment is akin to makeup, hiding all imperfections. Therefore, **leather with very poor surface quality typically requires surface treatment**. If the leather gets wet, simply **air dry it in the shade**. If prolonged exposure to water causes the leather to dry out, you may apply a thin layer of leather conditioner sparingly. **Do not use lotions or petroleum jelly for care**, as these can clog the leather's pores and damage the product. For regular storage, keep your leather goods in a cool, well-ventilated area to prevent excessive moisture and mold. If you notice any mold, gently wipe the surface with a dry cloth.
