The invention of the flip clock originated from a self-taught engineer in Italy, who applied the principle of axle rotation, combined with metal pages with numbers or letters (later changed to plastic pages), installed in a glass cover, to create the world's first flip clock (1948). This invention was first used in 1956 at Liege-Guillemins Station in Belgium. It became the focus of attention in terms of appearance and practicality, and has become a common notice board in airports and train stations around the world.
-
After the inventor passed away in 1957, his brother further modified the device, incorporating the idea of a clock, retaining the feature of page turning, and shrinking its module to develop a page-turning clock for home or office use.
