A West Asian Single-Line Yaksha Bead. Burmese Pagoda Rosary-Style Dalong Spell Bead Bracelet.
Inner circumference 18cm. Suitable for men with larger wrists.
1- Nine West Asian Single-Line Yaksha Beads.
Excavated artifacts. Ancient buried beads.
Classified under the West Asian bead category (Myanmar, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc.).
Features include contracted pore openings, leather-like texture, scale patterns, crackled ice patterns, and internal weathering.
Under UV light, you can observe phenomena such as black dye ion discoloration... typical of buried artifacts!
2- Nine large-sized Spell Beads from a collapsed Burmese pagoda.
Dating based on accompanying excavated artifacts.
Estimated to be from the 18th-19th century.
These are Dalong Spell Beads in a drilled rosary form.
Made of copper alloy, containing gold, though not in high proportion.
The oxidized patina has been polished away.
The beads appear bright yellow when photographed, but will naturally oxidize and darken if not maintained with polishing.
The average diameter of the largest beads is between 1.1-1.2cm.
This type of rosary-style spell bead was typically part of a 108-bead string placed within pagodas...
Due to the humid pagoda environment, the original cords have long since oxidized and disintegrated...
During the crafting of Dalong Spell Beads, cinnabar was melted together with the metal.
Possessing a powerful magnetic field, they are believed to suppress malevolent spirits and other yin entities.
They are considered excellent protective, barrier-creating, and lucky amuletic artifacts.
They have also been used for foundational blessings and creating protective boundaries.
Today, some individuals use them for spiritual practice, meditation, placing in home altars, or in vehicles... to harmonize feng shui and magnetic fields.
**************************
Myanmar is a country with strict regulations on artifact exports.
Buddhist statues and metal artifacts like Dalong Spell Beads... are prohibited from being taken out of the country!
