P & F Ceramic Designs does not pursue mass production. Each creation possesses a unique concept and design, breathing life into the pieces through pure hand-shaping or wheel-throwing. Every item is one-of-a-kind. Our works are created together as a couple, hence the "Ping" or "Fan" signature. Some pieces may also bear the "P & F Ceramic Designs" kiln stamp. Truly unique!

**1. What is the origin of the works?**
We primarily use American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay from Taiwan for our creations.

**2. What is the wood-firing process?**
We blend American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay in various proportions. The creation process involves pure hand-shaping (not on a pottery wheel), slowly forming the piece. After basic shaping, the body lines are refined, and then polished to complete the greenware.
Once loaded into the kiln, it undergoes a five-day, four-night continuous wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the works, forming a unique ash glaze. Simultaneously, the fire marks within the kiln flow around the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple flame patterns.
After five days and four nights of ash and fire mark interplay, a week of cooling is required to achieve the beautiful form of each piece! Because the kiln atmosphere differs with each firing, the ash deposits and fire marks on every piece are unique, making each work truly one of a kind!

**3. What should customers be aware of?**
Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. As these are purely handmade creations, they will inevitably bear traces of the hand-shaping process. Minor variations, slight imperfections in the rim, or small production scratches may occur due to the firing process; these are normal and do not affect usability. Your understanding is appreciated!
