Black Dyed Silver Scattered Tray

This is a vessel made of pure copper using the metal-beating technique, where a sheet of pure copper is hammered into shape. The series is inspired by the new moon, with pure copper dyed black through sulfidation. At approximately 110mm, it's a convenient size for a little tea time. Silver leaf is scattered on the rim, evoking a starry sky. For everyday use, simply wash with mild dish soap. The deepening and darkening of the color over time adds to its character. ※Please be careful as it may get scratched if rubbed against the bottom of pottery.
