Millefiori (Italian for "a thousand flowers") is a type of glass characterized by intricate, colorful patterns. It's created by shaping molten glass rods, then layering and shaping other colored glass onto their surfaces repeatedly to form a Millefiori rod. When viewed from the side, these rods appear solid, but when sliced, they reveal consistent, "Kintaro ame" (a traditional Japanese candy) like patterns throughout. Small, charming Millefiori pieces are then born from these elaborately shaped rods. The small, circular beads within the wreath design are made using this Millefiori technique.
