This is a delicate bracelet strung with old Tibetan turquoise, ancient agate, grape-hued white hearts, old Chin silver, and Orissa brass. The old Tibetan turquoise dates back approximately 100 to 200 years (possibly even older). It was acquired directly from someone who brought it back from Tibet. Turquoise is also known as the "Fallen Skystone." Since ancient times, it has been revered across various cultures as a protective amulet and a sacred stone. In Tibet, it has even been used medicinally. It is one of the stones passed down and worn for millennia. This is natural turquoise, without any coatings. Each piece is beautifully curved, showcasing captivating stripe patterns. (Turquoise size: 1cm width, 0.7cm height, 0.5cm thickness) Accenting the piece are ancient agate beads with milky-white translucency and striking white stripes. These were excavated from regions around the Indus River, such as Pakistan and India, and are approximately 2000 years old. Each perfectly round bead is adorned with intricate, beautiful stripes. The purple and red beads are antique beads known as white hearts. They are called this because their core (heart) is white. These beads originate from Venice, dating to around the 19th to 20th century. They feature a mix of grape-like hues and deep reds. While white hearts are often red, these purple shades are quite rare! Nestled between the old Tibetan turquoise and the deep red white hearts are plump silver beads made of highly rare old Chin silver, dating from around the 18th to 19th century. These pieces come from Burma. Traditionally used by Chin women in necklaces and other adornments, they bear a unique patina and endearing marks of time. Their substantial weight and presence are incomparable to modern silver (though some modern pieces are also very cool...). These antique beads have become even more valuable in recent years. A single emerald-green Indo-Pacific bead is placed near the clasp. The golden beads are old Orissa brass, rare and ancient beads originating from the state of Orissa in India. The charm near the clasp is also old brass from India. Each bead of Karen silver is meticulously stamped! The thought of each one being hand-crafted is truly astonishing. The slightly bent clasp is also made of Karen silver. ◇ Karen Silver ◇ This silver is crafted by a hill tribe living in the border region of Thailand and Burma. Each piece is handmade, and it is said to have very high purity. Connected with waxed cord, it may feel slightly stiff at first but will soften with wear, becoming more supple.
