For more details, click here↓ Bridle leather is made using a traditional British method of tanning leather using vegetable tannins and then rubbing wax into it to improve the leather's durability. The wax on the surface, which resembles a blanket of snow, melts with friction as the leather is used, giving the leather a glossy finish. The base leather used is from the bend (back) of cowhide, which has the highest fiber density and greatest strength. A typical belt is made by cutting two pieces of leather into thin strips and gluing them together with a core material between them, but this time, a single, extremely thick piece of leather is made into a belt. The thickness of the leather itself is 4.5 to 5 mm, which is almost the same as the thickness of raw cowhide. The leather itself is very hard at first, so please use it to get used to it. It will gradually soften and become more comfortable. The thread that secures the buckle is made from thick sinew thread that has been waxed to increase its strength, and is then securely sewn together by hand. Applying wax to the thread not only makes it more resistant to friction and less likely to wear out, but the wax is also fixed in place through the stitching holes, making it less likely to fray. The sinew thread is too thick to use a sewing machine, and the leather itself is quite thick, so this technique can only be done by hand sewing.
