Located in the Windward Islands of French Polynesia, Tahiti is the largest island, situated in the South Pacific. The mother-of-pearl responsible for Tahitian pearls is the precious black-lipped oyster, which secretes black nacre. This species has extremely stringent water requirements, and their formation process is exceptionally long. For every 100 oysters seeded, only 50 successfully cultivate pearls, and of those, merely five are flawless. Thus, each Tahitian black pearl is exceedingly precious. Small indentations, known as dimples, may appear on the pearl's surface. These occur naturally as the pearl grows within the shell. As with all natural pearls, minor surface textures and pores are normal due to their natural growth characteristics.
