Round hydrangea crystal glaze chopstick rest

I created these plump, round chopstick rests by combining white clay, which brings out the vivid color of the glaze, with a hydrangea crystal glaze, which has a blue-purple color reminiscent of hydrangeas and white crystals dancing in it. Each piece is made by hand by rolling and flattening the clay and smoothing out the curves. While the hydrangea color is vibrant, the areas where the glaze is thinly applied have a slightly burnt appearance, giving the chopstick rest a truly earthenware look. I have a small electric kiln at home and do all the steps by hand, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing and firing. We try to mold them as uniformly as possible in size and thickness, but because they are made by hand, each one is slightly different. We hope you enjoy each one's unique personality.
