Twelfth Light (Variegated Haworthia fasciata), Haworthia fasciata variegata, a succulent from the Liliaceae family. Compared to the robust Haworthia attenuata, the variegated 'Twelfth Light' Haworthia fasciata presents a softer appearance. The variations in its patterns and leaves add a touch of refined elegance, making it a delightfully easy-to-care-for, shade-tolerant companion! Like the Haworthia attenuata, it dislikes direct sunlight, especially the variegated varieties. Lacking chlorophyll in its variegated leaves, excessive sun exposure can cause the leaf tips to turn brown and unsightly. It thrives in partial sunlight or in a spot with indirect light, kept dry and well-ventilated. For watering, adhere to the principle of watering only when dry and watering thoroughly. It's generally a very forgiving succulent! If you're bothered by browning leaf tips, they can be carefully trimmed with sterilized scissors.
Sunlight
It's quite shade-tolerant and doesn't require intense light. Place it in an area with indirect sunlight. Let it occupy the nooks and crannies of balconies or the second shelf of a plant stand.
Watering
Watering frequency should be adjusted based on your environment. For outdoor plants with ample sunlight and good ventilation, water every 1-2 weeks, ensuring the entire plant absorbs moisture. For potted plants, water until it drains from the drainage holes. This method works for spring, autumn, and winter. In summer, during its dormant period, reduce watering to half or one-third. For indoor plants, use less water and water less frequently. Due to less air circulation indoors, overwatering can lead to rot, so control the amount of water, using less whenever possible, but always adjust based on the plant's condition.
Flower Language
Resembling sharp claws, the Haworthia fasciata's flower language is: "Full of Grasping Wealth." If you desire good fortune and prosperity, bringing home a Haworthia fasciata is the perfect choice!
π Key Notes: Tolerant of shade and drought, prefers indirect light, ensure good ventilation, water only when dry, water thoroughly, approximately once a week.
