Eurasian otters are found in various regions worldwide, including Southeast Asia and Europe.
In Taiwan, they are currently found only on the outlying islands of Kinmen. This population possesses unique genetic traits distinct from other Southeast Asian groups, earning them the local moniker "Kinmen otter."

What other small creatures inhabit Taiwan?
Many rare and endangered animals are small in stature and few in number, making them difficult to observe.
Survival is often more challenging for species beyond those with broad diets and wide altitudinal ranges.
They frequently face threats from habitat destruction, hunting, or only gain attention when deceased individuals are found or due to roadkill.
In this series, I've depicted them through illustrations.
Through these small illustrations, I hope to draw more attention to the species native to Taiwan.
New designs will be added as opportunities arise.
