This furoshiki features Fushimi dolls, originating from the late Momoyama period in Japan. To this day, these dolls are still exclusively produced by a single workshop in Fushimi, Kyoto, representing a historically significant traditional craft.
The themes of "Fushimi dolls" are diverse, encompassing deities, yokai, Inari deities (foxes), and even cats, each with a unique and charming form. These dolls are seen as a tangible expression of the Japanese spirit and have been cherished for generations.
Paired with the "Asanoha" (hemp leaf) pattern, it symbolizes a heartfelt wish for a child's healthy growth.
