This trip to Kyoto brought encounters with many wonderful people and things. It not only allowed me to re-experience the essence of living mindfully but also to witness the ancient capital's dedication to preserving and innovating traditional culture and craftsmanship. What captured my heart at first sight were the coin purses meticulously crafted by a kimono artisan. Mr. Nakamura, a gentleman of quiet grace, has retired from his career as a kimono artisan but continues to design coin purses using the kimono fabrics he cherishes. 【Premium Kimono Tsumugi Series】 The spirit of lifelong dedication to craftsmanship is evident in every detail and material selection. This piece features Kyoto's exquisite "Kanoko Shibori" tie-dyeing. Named for its resemblance to a fawn's spots, the intricate manual dyeing process is exceptionally complex and refined, resulting in unique patterns and colors. With every opening and closing, I find myself marveling, growing more fond of it each day.
