**Kyanite**
The name Kyanite originates from the Greek word Kyanos, meaning blue. It is rare and highly precious, with top-quality Kyanite valued similarly to sapphire.
Kyanite possesses a captivating luster, displaying a pearlescent fire akin to a cat's eye and presenting multi-layered blue hues.
Kyanite corresponds to the Third Eye Chakra, also known as the "Eye of Awareness," which governs the "Higher Self." Its primary functions include enhancing insight, intuition, and promoting spiritual awareness. Thus, individuals engaged in spiritual practices or meditation often wear Kyanite to elevate their "spiritual abilities."
Concurrently, Kyanite aligns with the Throat Chakra, improving expressiveness and activating communication skills. It also stabilizes emotions, alleviates worries, and fills the mind and body with vitality.
**Vitrification**
In the realm of gemstones, "vitrification" refers to a texture that is as crystal clear, transparent, moist, and lustrous as glass.
Vitrification occurs when gemstones are subjected to high temperatures or pressures in their natural environment, causing their structure to become more compact.
**Lapis Lazuli**
Ancient texts record the use of Lapis Lazuli in China as early as five thousand years ago, and even earlier in Egypt, around eight thousand years ago. Throughout Chinese dynasties, emperors used Lapis Lazuli for celestial sacrifices, believing its sky-like blue hue connected them to the heavens. Ancient Egyptians, meanwhile, used it for communication with the other world.
The finest Lapis Lazuli globally is found in Afghanistan. Afghan Lapis Lazuli is renowned for its deep, majestic blue, earning it the reputation of "Imperial Blue."
When selecting Lapis Lazuli, look for stones with a balanced distribution of blue, white (calcite), and gold (pyrite) flecks. As Lapis Lazuli forms near the surface, it has many pores and should not be exposed to water for extended periods. It is recommended to maintain it with mineral oil.
**Blue Moonstone**
Moonstone is characterized by its warm, delicate, and lustrous texture, with a dreamy and elegant iridescence. It belongs to the feldspar family of gemstones. Like Sunstone and Amazonite, it exhibits a silky sheen and a captivating fire reminiscent of moonlight or sunlight, hence its alternate name, Sunstone.
Ancient Romans believed Moonstone was formed from moonlight, and through it, one could behold the moon goddess Diana. In ancient India, Moonstone symbolized the Third Eye, enhancing spiritual comprehension and clarifying the mind.
**Agate**
Agate, also known as "M瑙," is primarily composed of silica from volcanic eruptions. It is a relatively abundant gemstone, making it one of the oldest known gemstones in history.
When silica melts from volcanic eruptions, it enters the pores of volcanic rock or other geological fissures, depositing in layers and bands. It can range from opaque to translucent to transparent, forming what is known as "banded agate" (finely layered varieties are called "silk agate"). Those with dot-like patterns resemble snowflakes and are commonly referred to as "Sakura Agate."
Agate is composed of various colors (due to different mineral inclusions) and may form in concentric circles, wavy patterns, layers, or parallel bands, leading to the saying, "A thousand types of agate, ten thousand kinds of jade."
Agate symbolizes stable energy, capable of calming emotions, reducing anxiety, enhancing vitality and vigor, strengthening personal aura and magnetic field, attracting positive energy and good fortune, and boosting luck. It further enhances creativity and imagination, leading to an outpouring of inspiration during the creative process.
Due to its wide range of colors, Agate can correspond to the seven chakras of the human body, making it a precious and beautiful treasure with both historical value and functional properties.
**Thumb Ring (Band Ring, Ring)**
Rings originated from thumb rings.
Thumb rings, also known as "Banzhi" or "Banzhi," were originally tubular guards made of leather or animal bone worn on the thumb by ancient archers to protect it from the arrow shaft. After the Manchu Qing Dynasty, these tubular guards evolved into decorative items crafted from hard, precious materials such as gold, silver, jade, agate, turquoise, and ivory, symbolizing power and status.
Traditional thumb rings were classified as "civil" or "military" based on their size and thickness. Military thumb rings were typically simple and unadorned, while civil thumb rings often featured poetry or patterns on their outer surfaces. Thumb rings made from precious materials were exclusively used by royalty and nobles. Commoners most often wore thumb rings made of Hetian jade, ivory, or porcelain.
In ancient times, the distinction in thumb ring materials served as a marker of social status and carried a sense of warning, thus evolving into what we now call rings.
**Aquamarine**
Aquamarine is named for its clear blue-green hue, reminiscent of the ocean.
Legend has it that mermaids living deep in the sea wore Aquamarine as ornaments, exposing them to sunlight to gain mystical powers for protection. Thus, Aquamarine is also known as the "Mermaid Stone."
For centuries, sailors navigating the turbulent seas habitually used Aquamarine to pray for the sea god's blessing for safe voyages. Consequently, Aquamarine is revered as the "Stone of the Brave," symbolizing composure, courage, and wisdom.

**◈ Care and Collection**
1. Natural gemstones possess their own unique luster and inherent textures (e.g., tiny black spots, stone lines, internal fractures, cloudiness, mineral inclusions, asymmetry). By wearing them frequently, you can observe subtle color changes that often make them appear more translucent and captivating, which is the best form of maintenance.
Natural organic gemstones (such as coral and amber) have low hardness and are sensitive to acids and alkalis. If they become dirty, avoid using cleaning agents. Simply rinse with clean water and wipe with a soft cloth. You can also use a soft brush dipped in a small amount of mineral oil (like baby oil) to gently clean and maintain them.
2. Metal jewelry has a long lifespan. Avoid external damage or strong acids and alkalis that can cause fading.
3. Fabric components (ribbons, cotton, gauze) are soft and comfortable to the touch and have a long lifespan. Avoid high temperatures, external damage, or strong acids and alkalis that can cause fading.
4. For jewelry of any material, when soiled, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with clean water as appropriate, or use a moderate amount of neutral detergent for suitable materials. After washing, ensure it is dried promptly.
5. When jewelry is removed, it should be properly packaged and stored, minimizing exposure to excess air to slow oxidation and discoloration. Avoid stacking or crushing.
