About Kuro's Origin "Kuro" was illustrated by the paper-cutting artist "Nekokuro @simba_tail". The name "Kuro" originates from the Taiwanese Hokkien phrase "kioh-lang," which sounds similar and means "to save people." Additionally, the number "nine" holds a significant connection to the author's life, inspiring the pen name "Nekokuro" (Nine Cat). "Kuro" is a new character created by the author. He's an extroverted cat, sometimes a bit whimsical and arrogant, other times remarkably serious. He enjoys traveling and occasionally leaves comments online. If you see the name "Kuro" attributed on social media, it's him. Lucky Cat Postcard: Card Material Features In previous years, the author created lucky cat couplets featuring the zodiac animal's headgear. For the Year of the Horse, Kuro now wears the horse's headgear. This year, however, it's available exclusively as a postcard. The first print run is limited to 80 pieces. Printed in black and a special gold ink, the white of the original paper is left visible as the base color, echoing Pantone's 2026 color of the year, "Cloud Dancer." It is hoped that this Kuro postcard will bring warmth to everyone. The blank space on the left can be used for writing blessings.
