These are upcycled Arita porcelain Kintsugi SDGs jewelry pieces. Broken or chipped pottery, no longer in use, is repurposed, adorned with Kintsugi, and transformed into accessories. The concept behind these creations is to allow wearers to feel a connection to nature and enduring Japanese traditions, breathing new life and possibilities into these pieces, reimagining them as modern accessories that bridge the past and future. Elegant fragments of pottery, with a subtle glimpse of a leaf pattern, are paired with gold-toned components. The fragments sway gracefully with each movement, creating a truly refined aesthetic. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery shards, allowing the gold to catch the light beautifully from all angles, adding a touch of sophistication. This work utilizes a modern, simplified Kintsugi method. Unlike traditional Kintsugi which uses natural lacquer derived from the urushi tree, this method uses adhesive for structural bonding.
