These are upcycled Arita porcelain Kintsugi SDGs jewelry pieces.
Broken or chipped pottery, no longer in use, is repurposed, adorned with Kintsugi, and transformed into accessories.
The concept behind these creations is to allow wearers to feel a connection to nature and enduring Japanese traditions, breathing new life and possibilities into these pieces, reimagining them as modern accessories that bridge the past and future.
Elegant fragments of pottery, with a subtle glimpse of a leaf pattern, are paired with gold-toned components.
The fragments sway gracefully with each movement, creating a truly refined aesthetic.
Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery shards, allowing the gold to catch the light beautifully from all angles, adding a touch of sophistication.
These pieces serve as a perfect accent for both casual and elegant ensembles.
Length: Pottery fragment: 10 x 15mm. Total length: 43mm.
Metal fittings: Screw-back earrings (fittings cannot be changed).
Weight: Despite being pottery, they are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
As each accessory is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece, it makes for an ideal gift.
They are also perfect for presenting to someone special.
*As these are finished, one-of-a-kind items, we are unable to accommodate requests for changes to the fittings or for reproduction.
*We will send the item shown in the photos. However, if it has already been sold on another site, it may be made to order. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in the color, pattern, and size of the pottery fragments and natural stones compared to the photos.
* "Kintsugi" is a unique Japanese traditional repair technique that mends broken or chipped ceramics using lacquer and gold powder. This work utilizes a modern, simplified Kintsugi method. Unlike traditional Kintsugi which uses natural lacquer derived from the urushi tree, this method uses adhesive for structural bonding.
The Kintsugi sections use lacquer (a commercially produced paint, not raw urushi) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), with UV resin also incorporated for reinforcement.
