DAPENG BAY: 3952 Laoshan Goat - A special edition named after a renowned Taiwanese landmark, designed for elegant writing. The barrel is meticulously crafted from high-density rosewood, a natural wood with a reddish-black hue. Its unique finishing process results in a dazzling, high-definition, high-gloss surface. This treatment involves repeatedly applying transparent lacquer and polishing the wood until the pores, naturally formed over time, are completely filled. This extensive process, involving dozens of layers of lacquer and polishing, creates an exceptionally smooth surface that enhances the tactile feel during writing and makes the rich wood grain appear more three-dimensional and distinct. This finish also offers better protection, making the wooden barrel more resistant to accidental ink stains. While this meticulous technique incurs higher costs, it results in a finish comparable to the lustrous wood trim found in luxury car interiors, so polished it reflects light and offers a distinct, substantial feel. Unlike common finishes that involve simple polishing or waxing, this labor-intensive treatment is exceptionally rare. (Natural grain patterns; premium wood selected at random). The pen is accessorized with polished brass components plated in gunmetal grey, featuring a screw-on airtight cap and a specially designed flexible clip.
This model is available with two nib options: the Standard Calligraphy Titanium Tip and the Special Calligraphy Titanium Tip.
The Standard Calligraphy Titanium Tip is a German Bock #250 (#6) titanium nib, hand-tuned by Laoshan Goat artisans to emulate the expressive line variation of a calligraphy brush, offering a unique, springy feel superior to standard steel nibs.
The Laoshan Goat Special Calligraphy Titanium Tip (ground and adjusted from an EF nib) is a custom nib specially requested from the German manufacturer, model #250 (#6). It is then meticulously hand-adjusted by Laoshan Goat artisans to achieve expressive line variation, mimicking the artistic flair of a brushstroke. It offers even greater elasticity than the standard calligraphy titanium nib, allowing for more nuanced strokes. Each nib is engraved with the distinctive 3952 Yushan logo, making it a collectible piece. (This nib offers optimal elasticity but may present a steeper learning curve for beginners; recommended for those experienced with calligraphy steel nibs or standard calligraphy titanium nibs as an advanced option).
**Gift Bundle Includes:** German SCHMIDT K2 converter (ink not included) + a handcrafted genuine leather pen sleeve made by a Taiwanese master artisan (color and style shipped randomly) + 3952 Laoshan Goat wooden presentation box.
Pen Dimensions: Total length approx. 150mm, barrel plus grip section approx. 105mm, maximum diameter (excluding clip) approx. 14.5mm, total weight (excluding nib) approx. 53g.
Hand-ground and Adjusted Calligraphy Nib:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is recommended to first dip the nib in ink to write, allowing it to adapt to the nib's characteristics. After a period of adjustment, use the converter for filling and writing. (Ensure the converter installed in the pen barrel is not removed to prevent ink backflow into the pen body after dipping).
2. The calligraphy nib is ground from an EF nib with a curved tip designed to achieve line variation not solely through pressure, but by adjusting the angle of the pen. Holding the pen more upright with less contact area between the nib and paper produces finer lines. Tilting the pen further or applying slight pressure increases the contact area, resulting in thicker lines. The ability to write thick or thin lines depends on your proficiency. (Each nib has a certain tolerance for pressure; avoid excessive force to prevent damage or misalignment. Using a writing pad underneath the paper is recommended).
The Special Calligraphy Titanium Tip is a custom titanium nib specially produced by the German manufacturer at the request of Laoshan Goat, featuring the 3952 Yushan logo imprint. It is softer and more flexible than standard titanium nibs but requires precise control. Due to its soft and flexible nature, applying pressure incorrectly can lead to ink flow interruptions. The Special Calligraphy nib's flexibility can easily tempt users to apply pressure; if the user's technique is not refined or they are unfamiliar with its characteristics, it can cause a temporary separation between the nib and feed, disrupting ink flow and leading to skipping. If the pen's angle is off and pressure is applied, the ink channel can be distorted, impeding flow. Therefore, this nib is more flexible and challenging to control. It is recommended to gain proficiency with steel nibs or standard titanium nibs before advancing to this Special Calligraphy Tip.

Note: Regularly clean and maintain the inside of the pen body and cap. When storing the pen, do not leave it uncapped with the nib facing downwards for extended periods.
Friendly Reminder: Avoid pressing down hard on the nib or writing with it angled excessively to the left or right (for right-handed users, aim for the nib to point towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position). This can prevent iridium point misalignment, scratching, or ink flow issues. Frequently rinse the nib with clean water to prevent ink clogging, which can affect writing quality.
