An indifferent, beautiful, subtle and affectionate loser's ballad
Anthology of classic Hong Kong poetry. Writing local daily scenes
"If the chirping of cicadas is the voice of Hong Kong, he is indeed it. Sometimes gentle and delicate, sometimes sharp and wise, and persistent." - Huang Chuqiao
Liang Bingjun (Yesi), an important Hong Kong writer and poet, published a collection of poems "Thunder and Cicadas" in 1978, which immediately became a classic of Hong Kong literature. Liang Bingjun loved Hong Kong and life. He was a pioneer in writing local life poetry. He used plain and simple language to explore the ordinary beauty of daily things and wrote about the unique rhythm of Hong Kong life in the 1970s, which influenced many generations of Hong Kong writers. "Thunder and Cicadas" is divided into seven volumes. Leung Ping-jun's footprints extend from the mainland to cross-strait and three places. The poems show the unique perspective of Hong Kong people who are always on the road.
This reprint has a preface by Huang Chuqiao, a contemporary and friend of Yesi's, and the cover photography provided by photography artist Li Jiasheng, which is of great significance.
