Myanmar 28-Line Ancient Bead (Length 9.06 cm, Width 1.61 cm, Surface-Cracked Bead)

A colossal 28-line bead unearthed in Myanmar. An artifact discovered in the ancient temple ruins along the Thai-Myanmar border. This linear bead measures 9.06 cm in length and is notably large. Such giant beads were historically used as ceremonial offerings in ancient times. They were rarely worn by ordinary individuals, typically being enshrined in altars or temples. The book features similar totemic carnelian ancient beads. The age of these beads generally exceeds two thousand years. Due to the relatively dry burial environment and thousands of years of temperature fluctuations, although the bead body is intact without breakage, its surface exhibits significant crackling and fissures, with distinct surface cracks visible. After excavation, local professional bead hunters stabilized it with adhesive to prevent further deterioration from exposure to external environmental temperatures or other stresses, which could cause the bead to break apart! Without this stabilization, at Thai bead shows, colleagues in the West Asian bead trade have mentioned that one such piece could fetch over 100,000 Thai Baht. Stainless steel wire loops have been attached to both ends, allowing it to be paired with any necklace or bead strand.
