Stone powder clay is used to make the color of the paint beautiful and to make a soft shape freely. Stone powder clay is made by crushing stone into powder and making it into clay. The color is white clay like paper clay, but it has stronger strength than paper clay. The paints used are mineral pigments, mica, and acrylic paints used in Japanese painting. I make it using the technique I learned in Hakata doll making. If you drop it from a high place, or if it has a bad corner, it may be slightly dented, but it is unlikely to crack like pottery. Since it is waterproof, if it gets dirty, you can wipe it off with a towel or tissue moistened with water. It weighs lighter than pottery and heavier than paper clay.
