Crafted from clay with a simple texture and color, this piece embodies a natural, earthy aesthetic. After being molded into a generously sized, plump, and rounded teacup shape, it's adorned with a brushstroke pattern using a variety of colorful decorative clays. The design evokes the gentle wind of a warm spring garden, with colors that shift and change depending on the viewing angle, offering a dynamic visual experience. When you hold it with both hands, the rounded body naturally conforms to the curves of your palms. The interior, finished in a subdued natural color that highlights the clay's character, allows the vibrant hues of your chosen beverage, whether sencha green tea or black tea, to be fully appreciated. It's also perfect for a generous serving of coffee or cafe au lait, or even for iced drinks on a summer day. This vessel is designed to be enjoyed with a wide array of beverages. All stages of creation, from clay kneading and shaping to bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously handcrafted in my home studio, which is equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. While mass production is not possible, each piece possesses a unique character, offering the distinct charm of handmade artistry. The item you receive will be the one pictured. To ensure your table surfaces are protected, the base of the cup has been sanded smooth. Please note that there is a small mark of green decorative clay on the inside rim of the cup, as shown in the final product image. This does not affect its usability in any way, so please rest assured. I continuously explore new combinations of various glazes and clays, experimenting with different colors and forms to create a diverse range of ceramic pieces. To address this, all our pottery undergoes a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for an initial soaking (sezai-nashi). This treatment requires 2-3 days to complete, hence our shipping window of 5 days from order placement. If you do not require the waterproofing treatment, please inform us at the time of purchase. - Cutlery shown in the product images is not included. - Product images are edited to be as true to the actual item as possible. However, colors may appear differently depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions.
