Vintage English ironstone serving dish with handcoloured floral design made by Mason's.
Charles James Mason patented the famous 'PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA' in 1813. The Mason patterns, moulds, etc., passed through several firms, and Mason's own company was renamed Mason's Ironstone China Ltd in 1968.
The mark at the bottom was in use in the 1940s. This item has some small areas of fine craquelure that are hard to see with the naked eye. There is also some possible wear on the glaze and discoloration due to usage and aging.
