Burma possesses the oldest-formed amber, and its hardness is higher than amber from other regions. Due to its high hardness, any heating treatment would cause it to crack directly, which is why Burmese amber is less frequently optimized. Amber's formation requires low temperatures and high pressures underground for "amerisation." These low-temperature, ultra-high-pressure physical conditions are extremely difficult to achieve, only possible through large-scale tectonic movements or major natural disasters.
