mashu is a proprietary brand of furoshiki from Kyoto Babasona Dye Factory. Established in Fushimi, Kyoto in 1913, all of our products are still meticulously hand-dyed by artisans using traditional katagami (stencil dyeing) techniques, even a century later.
In Japanese, fans are also called "suehiro" (末広), inspired by their opened shape, symbolizing a broad and prosperous future.
