At Xiaopingfan Pottery Studio, we do not pursue mass production. Each creation begins with a unique concept, imbuing the pure hand-pinching or wheel-throwing process with life. Every piece is one-of-a-kind. Our works are a collaboration between my husband and me, hence the marks of "Ping" or "Fan." Some pieces also bear the "Xiaopingfan Pottery Studio" seal – truly unique!

**1. What is the origin of your works?**
We primarily use clay from the USA, Japan, and Miaoli, Taiwan, for our creations.

**2. What is the wood-firing process?**
We mix clays from the USA, Japan, and Miaoli in various proportions. The forming process is entirely by hand-pinching (not on a wheel), gradually shaping the piece. After basic shaping, we refine the lines and polish the greenware.
Once in the kiln, the wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood lasts for five days and four nights, uninterrupted. Temperatures reach over 1200°C. During this time, natural ash falls onto the pieces, forming a distinctive ash glaze. Simultaneously, the flame patterns within the kiln dance around the works, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple flame marks.
After five days and four nights of ash and flame interplay, the pieces require another week to cool down before their final beauty is revealed! As the kiln atmosphere differs with each firing, the ash deposits and flame patterns on every piece are unique, making each creation truly one of a kind!

**3. What should our esteemed guests note?**
Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. As these are purely handmade creations, they will bear the marks of the crafting process. Minor variations, such as slight unevenness in the rim or small marks from the firing process, are normal and do not affect the usability of the piece. We appreciate your understanding!
