[Bronze wrapped flower vase] Custom made, each color and size is slightly different
Size|13×6×12.5cm
Materials: Bronze, Bronze, Linen, glass test tube
I made a piece during the house exhibition, and recently completed a new one. Inspired by the process of folding paper, the designer tried to give the metal the lightness of paper, just like the shape of a folded paper. The top edge is fixed with delicate stitching. At first glance, it looks like leather or paper, but when you actually pick it up, you can feel its steady weight and texture.
The edges were finished using the usual finishing techniques when forging objects, and the delicate hammer marks added more layers and details to the Bronze. The surface has been smoked, with overlapping layers of colors, like traces of time, with a warm luster, showing rich depth and texture between the changes of light and shadow.
This vase was completed just a week ago. I took a picture of it when the sun rarely showed up, but I didn't expect it to be taken away at the market. It is a special feeling, as if the work met the right person at the right time, an understanding and encounter that requires no words.
