|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"A person nurtures jade for three years, and jade nurtures a person for a lifetime."
Crystals possess a powerful aura but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is known for its gentle and soothing properties. While its magnetic field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's intrinsic energy is exceptionally pure and clean, exerting only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI[Si2 O6]—often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains more than 2% chromium.
Green: Contains more than 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green but rarer than other colors.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily found in bones and teeth, with its presence also in blood and muscles. Calcium is a crucial regulator of life activities, fulfilling important physiological functions at every stage of development, from childhood to adulthood and old age. It is an indispensable macro-mineral essential for human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is significantly important for maintaining normal physiological functions. It can prevent cardiovascular diseases and aid in blood sugar regulation. The human body cannot synthesize it and must absorb it through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with Type 2 diabetes, chromium can enhance insulin sensitivity. It is beneficial for overweight individuals in managing cholesterol and blood sugar. Those experiencing high stress levels lose chromium faster than average individuals, making these three groups particularly in need.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an indispensable trace element for the human body. The human body contains approximately 6–10 mg of nickel, primarily found in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the human intestines, with unabsorbed nickel being largely excreted through feces. Only 10–20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macro-mineral essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is a necessary nutrient for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium levels effectively regulate calcium and maintain normal neuromuscular function, with both elements having a synergistic effect. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation within the body and is associated with the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, which has relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have a lower mortality rate from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it an essential trace element. The adult human body typically contains 3–5 grams of iron, with sixty to seventy percent distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron's assistance to function smoothly.
Medical research indicates that jadeite possesses significant therapeutic capabilities. Long-term wear of jadeite can not only prevent illnesses but also alleviate and even treat certain conditions.
Treating Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can alleviate common chest tightness by emitting energy into the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest. Continuous massage can lead to a complete resolution.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to "clear middle-level heat, moisten the heart and lungs, nourish hair, benefit the five viscera, calm the spirit, promote blood circulation, and sharpen the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordination and balance of physiological functions in the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite accessories, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, are in direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite enter the body through this contact, nourishing the skin and making women appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling Down: The cooling properties of jadeite provide a soothing and refreshing sensation. During the Tang Dynasty, Yang Guifei would hold jade in her mouth during the summer to relieve heat. Since then, summer has become a cool season. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants have been used to ward off the summer heat.
The above are evidence-based reasons for appreciating jadeite. Another, less tangible reason, is its uncanny ability to soothe and comfort when one feels down or stressed, offering a sense of solace.
