These are SDGs jewelry pieces with Kintsugi, upcycled from Arita ware.
Broken or chipped pottery that would otherwise be discarded is reused, mended with Kintsugi, and transformed into accessories.
The concept behind these pieces is to foster an appreciation for nature and Japan's enduring traditions, breathing new life into them as modern accessories that connect to the future and unlock new possibilities.
Delicate floral and leaf patterns are subtly visible on the elegant pottery fragments, adorned with freshwater pearls.
The sides of the pottery pieces are embellished with Kintsugi, showcasing a touch of gold that catches the eye from every angle and adds a refined grace.
These pieces are perfect as a unique accent to elevate both casual and elegant ensembles.
Length: 13 x 15mm
Metal fittings: Surgical stainless steel earrings (Fittings cannot be changed)
Weight: Despite being pottery fragments, they are light and comfortable to wear.
As each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation, it makes for an ideal gift.
Consider them as a thoughtful present for someone special.
*As these are finished, one-of-a-kind items, we are unable to accommodate requests for changes to the metal fittings or future re-creation.
*We will ship the item pictured. However, if it has already been sold on another platform, it may be made to order. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in the color, pattern, and size of the pottery fragments and natural stones compared to the photograph.
*Kintsugi is a unique Japanese traditional repair method that mends broken or chipped pottery using lacquer and gold powder. These works are created using a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional mending with natural lacquer derived from the urushi tree, this process uses adhesive for bonding.
The Kintsugi parts are made using lacquer (a paint developed by manufacturers, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder), with UV resin also incorporated for reinforcement.
